Porcelain
Laminates or Veneers are porcelain shells with a thickness of 0.3 to 0.7 mm,
bonded to the front of the teeth. Veneers are reasonable facsimiles of natural
teeth that help us correct color, position, and shape the teeth.
What
are the advantages of porcelain laminate veneers over classical porcelain
crowns?
In
veneer treatment, not all of the enamel tissue is removed, as in classical
porcelain crown treatment. Minimal preparation of enamel is sufficient. In some
cases, veneers can be applied without any preparation.
Who is
suitable for veneers?
Veneers
can be applied to those who are uncomfortable with the position, shape, and
color of their teeth, discoloration or gaps, large and colored fillings, or
broken and worn teeth.
How
long is the application period of veneers?
Veneer
treatment can be completed in two days or more depending on the case. But
firstly, any existing gum infection must be treated or need for root canal
treatment must be addressed.
How do
I take care of my veneers?
You
must brush your teeth at least two times a day, floss once a day, and avoid
shelled nuts.
Do
veneers stain?
Porcelain
laminate is resistant to coloring. Since they have a smoother surface than
natural teeth, bacteria plaque is less likely to accumulate.
Is there
a risk of veneers falling or breaking after application?
When
veneers are made properly they will not fall out since they will be strongly
attached to the dental tissue.
